Balancia presented at ECOMM 2010

Balancia, represented by Arjen Jaarsma and Fadiah Achmadi, gave a presentation at the ECOMM Mobility Management conference in Graz held on 3-5 May 2010. The presentation was mainly about the comparison between mobility management measures in Amsterdam as an old city built for cars and Masdar City (United Arab Emirates) as a new city with zero CO₂ emission. The best practices of mobility management measures taken in Amsterdam, which is so-called “A Conventional Approach”, were adopted to enrich “The New Approach” taken in Masdar City. The conclusion is that an active approach of Masdar City in order to influence the life style of its inhabitants must be complemented by good calculation of CO₂ emissions in order to evaluate the effectiveness of the measures.
