Vision and mission

The 21^st century will be the century of sustainability. Since early action on climate change considerably outweighs the costs, governments are rapidly developing new policies to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases. The transition towards a sustainable world will not only focus on the reduction of CO2 emissions (Planet). It will also include the development of liveable sustainable cities for the rapidly urbanizing world population (People) and it will boost the global economy when new energy resources such as sun, wind and water together with new advanced techniques are being developed on a large scale (Profit). In this century of sustainability, we will see a global transition from fossil based transport towards energy-efficient mobility. This will fundamentally change the way how people and goods are moving in the 21^st century cities.

Our mission is to assist governments and private parties in this challenging transition towards sustainable mobility. We do that in an excellent way, always taking the costs and benefits of mobility into account. In assisting our clients, we provide world wide expertise in new vehicle techniques, especially related to the current electrification of cars, buses, scooters and bicycles. We provide new planning concepts used in the first low carbon cities being built right now. But most importantly, we give excellent advice in a wide range of policy and planning measures to increase the share of public transport, cycling and walking in an urban liveable environment where congestion is low and traffic safety is high!

Balancia is a company with low CO2 emissions based in Amsterdam (the Netherlands). We work for very reasonable consultancy rates in a great part of the world: in Europe, Asia and Africa.
