Mobility in low carbon cities

Low carbon cities are cities with low emissions of CO2 which are caused by buildings, infrastructure to produce and transport energy and waste, and mobility of persons and goods (traffic). The best example of low carbon cities is Masdar City, a non-car city in the United Arab Emirates, where Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) is used as one of the main modes to transport people to their destination.

Balancia has capability in developing the third element of low carbon cities by managing the mobility to support the low carbon cities concept. We design policies to change the modal split in a city (less dependency on automobile mobility, more dependency on public transport, cycling and walking), to introduce urban planning concepts to decrease travel times (the compact city with facilities within or close to residential areas) and to introduce cleaner vehicles.
